MEAN is collection of:

MongoDB

MongoDB is the next-generation NoSQL database that lets you create applications built for the cloud. MongoDB stores data using a flexible document data model that is similar to JSON and typically, you do not need an ORM framework. MongoDB provides automatic sharding and full cluster support, right out of the box.

Express

Express is a minimal web application framework for Node.js. Express provides a flexible and thin layer of fundamental features for web and mobile applications. Express makes creating APIs a breeze. It is designed for building single-page, multi-page, and hybrid web applications.

AngularJS

AngularJS is fresh! AngularJS is a client-side JavaScript framework for web applications. Angular provides a framework for client-side model–view–controller (MVC) and model-view-viewmodel (MVVM) architectures. It is highly extensible and lets you extend HTML vocabulary for your application.

Node.js

Node.js is superfast. Node.js is a server platform built on JavaScript runtime for easily building fast, scalable network applications. Node.js is lightweight and very efficient, perfect for data-intensive real-time applications that run across distributed devices.
